Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
● Requirement Management & Documentation:
○ Act as a lead liaison with various business stakeholders (including Risk Partners, Finance, and Operations) to meticulously elicit, analyze, and document comprehensive business requirements.
○ Translate complex business needs into detailed specifications, creating clear and concise Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specification Documents (FSDs).
○ monitor criteria for Significant Increase in Credit Risk (SICR) to accurately classify financial instruments into Stages 1, 2, and 3, ensuring appropriate impairment recognition.
● IFRS 9 ECL Production & Reporting:
○ Actively participate in the monthly/quarterly production and reporting of IFRS 9 Expected Credit Losses, including the calculation of 12-month and lifetime ECL.
○ Actively contribute to the development, validation, and comprehensive documentation of key IFRS 9 components, including PD (Probability of Default), LGD (Loss Given Default), and EAD (Exposure at Default) models.
● NPA Management & Reporting:
○ Monitor and report on non-performing assets (Stage 3 loans), overseeing the transition of assets into default and ensuring adequate provision coverage in alignment with regulatory guidelines.
● Data Governance & Analysis:
○ Extract, analyze, and validate large datasets from diverse upstream sources (e.g., loan origination systems, collateral management platforms) to ensure high data quality and integrity for ECL engine inputs and NPA reporting.
○ Incorporate and analyze macroeconomic scenarios (e.g., GDP growth, unemployment rates, property prices) into ECL calculations to reflect forward-looking information.
● Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-functional Collaboration:
○ Collaborate effectively with Risk, Finance, Technology, and other cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle.
○ Present insightful analytical findings on portfolio quality, ECL movements, and NPA trends to diverse stakeholders, including risk management, finance, and senior leadership teams.
● Testing & Validation:
○ Develop test plans, scenarios, and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business requirements and are fit for purpose.
Experience:
○ 6-8 years of proven experience as a Business Analyst in Credit Risk, Risk Management, or Finance within the banking industry.
○ Demonstrable experience with IFRS 9 ECL and NPA management.
● Domain Knowledge:
○ Strong understanding of IFRS 9 (Impairment Model), including Stage 1, 2, and 3 classification.
○ In-depth knowledge of NPA provisioning and comprehensive credit risk management principles.
● Technical Skills:
○ SQL: Advanced proficiency in querying, extracting, and analyzing large datasets from relational databases.
○ Data Visualization: Hands-on experience with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar for creating impactful risk dashboards and reports is desirable.
○ Modeling/Statistical Tools: Experience with SAS, Python, R, or VBA is highly desirable for data manipulation and model analysis.
○ Excel: Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and VBA for complex analysis.
● Analytical Mindset: Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, and quantitative analysis skills, with a proven ability to interpret and translate complex financial and risk data into actionable insights.
● Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical findings and complex risk concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
