Scrum Master - Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Scrum Master with a strong background in Agile methodologies and Life Sciences domain expertise. The ideal candidate will lead multiple Agile teams, ensure adherence to Scrum principles, and drive delivery excellence for complex programs in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or healthcare technology. This role requires exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and a deep understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks within Life Sciences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Agile Leadership:
  • Serve as a servant leader and coach for multiple Scrum teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure teams adhere to Agile principles, Scrum practices, and organizational standards.
• Delivery Management:
  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, Retrospectives).
  • Track and report progress using Agile metrics (Velocity, Burndown, etc.).
  • Remove impediments and escalate issues to ensure timely delivery.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and cross-functional teams to prioritize backlog and align deliverables with business objectives.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
• Domain Expertise:
  • Apply deep knowledge of Life Sciences processes such as Clinical Trials, Regulatory Submissions, Pharmacovigilance, and GxP compliance.
  • Ensure Agile practices align with FDA, EMA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Drive Agile maturity assessments and implement best practices across teams.
  • Mentor junior Scrum Masters and contribute to organizational Agile transformation initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience:
  • 15+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 8+ years as a Scrum Master in large-scale Agile programs.
  • Proven track record in Life Sciences domain (Pharma, Biotech, Healthcare IT).
• Certifications:
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent (PSM, SAFe Scrum Master).
  • SAFe Agilist or other scaled Agile certifications preferred.
• Technical & Domain Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira, Rally, Confluence.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance (GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11).
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage distributed teams.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in implementing Agile in regulated environments.
• Exposure to Data Analytics, AI/ML solutions in Life Sciences.
• PMP or PMI-ACP certification.
