Job Description

Role Summary

The ideal candidate is a strong iOS engineer with expertise across both modern and legacy Apple technology stacks. This role requires hands-on development using Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit, while also being comfortable maintaining or integrating older Objective-C components.

The engineer is expected to be proactive, provide architectural and implementation suggestions, challenge assumptions when necessary, and independently own epics from requirement analysis through release.

The candidate should also actively leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity, accelerate delivery, and maintain high-quality code.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality iOS application features for the CASS platform
  • Own complex mobile epics from requirement clarification through production release
  • Build scalable, reusable, and maintainable UI components using SwiftUI and UIKit
  • Integrate backend services using GraphQL APIs
  • Implement networking and concurrency patterns using modern Swift async/await
  • Work with Apollo GraphQL client for schema-based API integration
  • Maintain compatibility with legacy Objective-C modules where required
  • Manage project dependencies and build configurations using CocoaPods
  • Collaborate closely with backend, product, QA, and design teams
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimations, standups, demos, and retrospectives
  • Proactively identify technical risks, architectural gaps, and performance bottlenecks
  • Drive improvements in app performance, reliability, observability, and maintainability
  • Contribute to mobile architecture and engineering best practices
  • Use AI tools to accelerate coding, testing, debugging, and documentation

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong iOS application development experience (5+ years)
  • Expert-level proficiency in Swift
  • Strong hands-on experience with SwiftUI
  • Strong experience with UIKit
  • Experience integrating GraphQL APIs
  • Hands-on experience with Apollo GraphQL client
  • Strong understanding of Swift concurrency (async/await)
  • Working knowledge of Objective-C
  • Experience with CocoaPods
  • Strong knowledge of iOS app lifecycle and architecture patterns (MVVM / MVC / Clean Architecture)
  • Experience with asynchronous networking and API integration
  • Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
  • Familiarity with Git-based development workflows

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Experience with modular iOS architecture
  • Mobile security best practices
  • CI/CD for iOS pipelines
  • Test automation (unit/UI testing)
  • Memory and performance profiling using Xcode Instruments
  • App Store release and provisioning experience

Required Engineering Competencies

  • Strong Agile delivery experience
  • Ability to independently own epics/features end-to-end
  • Product mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Proactive communication and stakeholder collaboration
  • Ability to provide engineering recommendations and suggest improvements
  • Strong analytical and debugging capabilities
  • Comfortable working in distributed offshore teams
  • Ability to convert ambiguous requirements into technical implementation plans
