Job Description

An R Shiny web developer builds interactive data visualization and analysis tools using the R programming language and the Shiny framework. They design, develop, and deploy dashboards and applications that allow users to explore and manipulate data dynamically. This role often involves data manipulation, UI/UX design, and ensuring the application runs efficiently. 
Here's a more detailed breakdown of an R Shiny web developer's responsibilities:
Responsibilities:

  • Building and Maintaining Shiny Applications:
    • Designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and applications using R and Shiny. 
    • Implementing user interfaces (UI) and server-side logic. 
    • Ensuring applications are visually appealing and user-friendly. 
    • Updating existing applications based on changes in functionality or requirements. 
    • Debugging and testing applications to ensure they function correctly. 
  • Data Handling and Manipulation:
    • Analyzing datasets, both structured and unstructured, to identify relationships and prepare data for loading into databases. 
    • Creating and managing data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. 
  • Data Visualization and Reporting:
    • Developing visualizations, reports, and dashboards using R Shiny. 
    • Creating data pipelines that integrate various data sources to create comprehensive visualizations. 
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Working closely with other developers, data scientists, and subject matter experts. 
    • Communicating technical information clearly and concisely. 
    • Proposing solutions to technical challenges and application improvements.
