QA Automation - Senior Engineer

Job Description

• Experience: ~ 5-8  years in QA automation, preferably in banking, financial services, capital markets or enterprise application testing.
• Core skills: Strong hands-on Java automation, BDD/Cucumber, Gherkin, Playwright, SQL, API testing and database validation.
• Framework ownership: Ability to enhance and maintain reusable automation frameworks, utilities, test data handling, reporting, logging and execution controls.
• Technical leadership: Guide intermediate engineers, review automation code, enforce standards, troubleshoot execution failures and drive automation best practices.
• Integration exposure: Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins or Bamboo; Maven/Gradle; Git-based branching; and API-based reporting integrations with Jira/Xray.

Nice to have : Exposure to REST Assured/Postman, Splunk/Kibana log analysis, CyberArk or secure credential handling, cloud/on-prem test execution and test metrics reporting

Common Responsibilities Across QA Automation Roles

• Design, develop and maintain automated regression test suites using Java, BDD/Cucumber, Playwright and SQL-based validations.
• Create reusable automation components for API, browser, database, file and report validation scenarios aligned to RAFT framework standards.
• Convert functional requirements, manual regression packs and acceptance criteria into Gherkin scenarios and automated test scripts.
• Support CI/CD integration for automated nightly execution and maintain stable, repeatable and environment-ready test suites.
• Integrate test execution outcomes with Jira/Xray and support defect analysis, evidence capture, reporting and traceability.
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, client QA teams and application SMEs in Agile ceremonies and sprint delivery.
