QA Automation Java - Lead

Job Description

• Experience: 5-7 years in QA automation with hands-on experience in n functional, regression, integration and database testing.
• Core skills: Java-based automation, BDD/Cucumber, Gherkin, Playwright, SQL and test scenario creation.
• Execution focus: Develop and execute automated scripts for UI/browser, API, database and file-based validations as per defined framework standards.
• Test design: Convert manual test cases and user stories into reusable Gherkin feature files, step definitions and automation scripts.
• Tooling exposure: Familiarity with Jira/Xray, Git, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD execution, defect lifecycle and Agile sprint delivery.

Common Responsibilities Across QA Automation Roles

• Design, develop and maintain automated regression test suites using Java, BDD/Cucumber, Playwright and SQL-based validations.
• Create reusable automation components for API, browser, database, file and report validation scenarios aligned to RAFT framework standards.
• Convert functional requirements, manual regression packs and acceptance criteria into Gherkin scenarios and automated test scripts.
• Support CI/CD integration for automated nightly execution and maintain stable, repeatable and environment-ready test suites.
• Integrate test execution outcomes with Jira/Xray and support defect analysis, evidence capture, reporting and traceability.
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, client QA teams and application SMEs in Agile ceremonies and sprint delivery.
