Job Description

  • Versatile senior solutions engineer with 8+ years advanced proficiency in release management, having broad view of system architecture, and ability to layout software validation strategies
  • Experience using any test automation frameworks and tools such as Cucumber, Selenium etc.
  • Solid SQL or Oracle experience (MS SQL Server or Oracle RDBMS preferred)
  • Familiarity with Scala/Big data (HDFS, HBase, Impala, Hive, Avro, Oozie, Spark, Akka and Solr)
  • Evaluate automation options, develop new functional and regression tests
  • Set up, configure and maintain test environments
  • Create suite of tests to ensure all key user journeys and integration points have suitable coverage
  • Execute the tests, raise and track bug reports\incidents, provide sufficient details for Dev team to investigate
  • Experience with build and continuous integration tools (i.e. Maven, TeamCity)
  • Configure and maintain all jobs and services necessary for environment stability
  • Management of batch processing and data loading
  • Release management activities related to environment preparation (SIT & UAT) including batch maintenance and data loading
  • Co-ordination of environment demand and system usage
  • Contributing to system improvements across the multiple environment set-up
  • Acquire a broad understanding of system architecture sufficient to design testing campaign with limited support from Business Analysts
  • Actively participate in meetings with Business Analysts and Development team to clarify requirements and to drive the project, conduct test cases reviews to ensure they accurately capture business functionality
  • Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
  • Adhere to team standards and best practices, propose improvements to the development\testing process
  • Knowledge of SAFe framework or other agile delivery approaches.
  • Good domain experience in Financial services/capital markets/investment banking
