Playwright Test Automation - Lead

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Automation Strategy: Develop and implement automated testing strategies that align with project goals and quality standards.
• Test Framework Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust test automation frameworks using Typescript, ensuring reusability and low maintainability.
• Test Script Creation: Write, review, and enhance automated test scripts to cover functional, regression, and integration testing scenarios.
• Test Execution: Ability to record & play and execute automated test scripts, analyze results, and report defects to the development team. Monitor and maintain test environments to ensure consistent test execution.
• Continuous Integration: Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline, working collaboratively with development and DevOps teams to ensure timely and reliable test execution.
• Test Data Management: Manage test data setup and ensure data consistency for different testing phases.
• Defect Tracking: Identify, document, and prioritize defects using issue tracking tools. Collaborate with the development team to ensure timely defect resolution.
• Performance and Load Testing: Contribute to performance and load testing efforts by creating automated tests to validate system responsiveness and stability.
• Test Reporting: Generate comprehensive test reports and metrics for various stakeholders, highlighting test coverage, results, and areas for improvement – by logging details in Jira.
• Test Process Enhancement: Continuously enhance testing processes and methodologies to increase efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
• Lead QA Engineer - Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, helping them develop their automation skills and best practices.
• Stay Current: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging tools, and technologies related to test automation, and suggest improvements to the existing testing practices.
• Must have: Exposure to any of the cloud computing platform (Azure \ AWS \ GCP)

Hands-on experience in test automation using Typescript

•  Strong coding skills in Typescript and experience with object-oriented programming.

•  In-depth understanding of software testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices.

•  Proficiency in creating and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.

•  Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

•  Solid knowledge of testing web applications, APIs, and databases.

•  Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

•  Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

•  Relevant certifications in testing or test automation (e.g., Playwright with Typescript) is a plus

• Candidate must have worked on Playwright Test Automation and must have strong experience and expertise in Test Automation, Test Case Development, Writing Test Scripts, Execution, Deployment, and Troubleshooting.

•  Ability to support multiple project teams.

•  Excellent working expertise on Playwright tool with Typescript programming language

•  Strong understanding of Rest API's

•  Strong hands-on experience on Version Control and CI/CD..

•  Understanding of Jira must.

•  Strong understanding of Functional Testing principles and standards and ability to conduct and carry out Functional Testing in addition to Automation Testing
