Job Description

  • 8+ years strong technical experience with various Unix server platforms, RHEL and Oracle Linux, and system administration skills.
  • Strong technical experience with Oracle DBMS and professional DBA background.
  • Strong experience supporting Exadata platform for large clients, including in Production.
  • Solid technical experience with other Oracle tooling, supporting their DBMS, i.e. OEM, ASR, etc.
  • Solid technical experience with other Infrastructure elements (cabling, network, load balancing, middleware / messaging).
  • Migration of the existing product databases from 19c RACs to Exadata
  • Strong automation skills (Bash, Python, etc.).
  • Serve as a backup Support Engineer during India hours for Exadata platform operating in the Finance space – a mix of X5s (being phased out) and X9s
  • Exposure to DevOPs, specifically in the areas of CI/CD (JIRA, Git/Bitbucket, TeamCity/Jenkins, deployment solutions), Infrastructure-as-a-Code (Chef, or alternatives), monitoring (ELK, Grafana, InfluxDB, Prometheus).
  • Unix OS management, including patches, upgrades, Cyber vulnerabilities remediation, OS backups, system performance tuning, other activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Incident & Change Management across environments of all grades, including Production.
  • Proactive system monitoring and preventive / corrective actions as required, daily health checks.
  • Maintenance of dedicated monitoring infrastructure (Oracle OEM / ASR).
  • Provisioning of new databases /environments.
  • Capacity Management & Forecasting.
  • Database backups.
  • Refresh of Non-Production databases.
  • Ownership of physical hardware problems (e.g. motherboard / disks failures), and coordination with vendor & data-center engineers on their resolution.
  • Management of vendor Service Requests.
  • Ensure compliance to technical standards, and processes
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with Stakeholders to deliver assigned tasks with defined quality goals
