Job Description
Collaborate with Cloud Services and Application teams to deliver projects, deploy new features and enhancements, ensuring they meet reliability and performance standards.
2. Design and implement highly available and scalable systems, ensuring the reliability and performance of the company's sites and/or applications.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and establish service level objectives (SLOs) and service level agreements (SLAs) for critical systems.
4. Monitor systems and applications, proactively identifying and resolving any performance bottlenecks or availability issues.
5. Conduct post-incident analyses to identify root causes and implement preventive measures to avoid future incidents. The SRE will be responsible for escalating to Cloud Support should they determine the issue to be IaaS platform related
6. Responsible for building the automation for any account customizations required by the application (i.e.: custom roles, policies, security groups, etc.)
7. Create and maintain documentation for system architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting procedures.
8. Perform capacity planning and resource allocation to ensure optimal system performance, scalability and reduce spend leveraging cost management tooling.
9. Deploy infrastructure as code (IaC) releases to QA, staging, and production environments.
10. Provide developers build assistance for applications where needed.
11. Environment Cleanup (i.e.: removing old EC2 instances, EBS volume clean up, S3 clean up, etc.)
12. Provide L2 Operational Support, including off-hours incident response (this will be the development teams first point of contact for production support.
