Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Engineering graduates to join our Cyber Security team as Graduate Engineer Trainees (GET). This role provides an excellent opportunity to build a career in cybersecurity with hands-on exposure to Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), security tools operations, vulnerability management, and information security processes.
The selected candidates will undergo structured training and work alongside experienced cybersecurity professionals to support security operations, compliance initiatives, and risk management activities.
Key Responsibilities
Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)
- Assist in maintaining information security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Support compliance activities aligned with ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, or other applicable standards.
- Participate in internal security audits and compliance assessments.
- Help maintain risk registers and track remediation activities.
- Assist in documenting security controls, exceptions, and audit evidence.
Security Tools Operations
- Monitor and operate cybersecurity tools under the guidance of senior team members.
- Support vulnerability scanning and remediation tracking.
- Assist in security incident logging, triage, and follow-up activities.
- Generate operational and compliance reports from security platforms.
- Monitor security alerts and escalate issues according to defined procedures.
- Maintain documentation related to security tools, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
General Responsibilities
- Coordinate with IT infrastructure, application, and business teams on security-related tasks.
- Support periodic security reviews and compliance reporting.
- Maintain accurate records of operational activities and assigned tasks.
- Continuously learn emerging cybersecurity technologies and best practices.
- Adhere to organizational information security policies and confidentiality requirements.
Desired Technical Knowledge
- Fundamentals of computer networks and TCP/IP.
- Basic understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals and common threats.
- Familiarity with information security concepts such as CIA Triad, authentication, encryption, firewalls, VPNs, and access control.
- Basic understanding of vulnerability management and security monitoring.
- Exposure to scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) is an added advantage.
- Awareness of cloud security concepts is desirable.
