Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 System Implementation
• Maintain and enhance the Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.
• Conduct internal audits, coordinate external certification and surveillance audits, and ensure closure of non-conformities.
• Develop and maintain EHS documentation: policy, procedures, aspect-impact register, risk assessments, objectives, and management review reports.
• Drive continual improvement initiatives as per ISO standards.
Compliance Management
• Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, occupational health, and safety laws and regulations.
• Maintain a legal register and ensure periodic evaluation of compliance.
• Liaise with government and statutory authorities for EHS inspections, renewals, and reporting.
Workplace Health & Safety
• Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits, and ergonomic assessments for software development workspaces.
• Coordinate fire safety drills, first-aid training, and emergency preparedness programs.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor indoor air quality, workstation ergonomics, lighting, and ventilation standards.
Environmental Management & Sustainability
• Monitor and report on energy, water, and waste metrics across office premises.
• Promote e-waste management, recycling programs, and green procurement practices.
• Support corporate sustainability and carbon footprint reduction initiatives.
• Conduct environmental awareness campaigns among employees.
Employee Engagement, Training & Awareness
• Conduct EHS induction and refresher training for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Develop and circulate EHS communications – posters, newsletters, and digital campaigns.
• Foster a strong safety and sustainability culture within the organization.
Reporting & Documentation
• Prepare monthly and quarterly EHS performance reports.
• Track and present EHS KPIs such as training coverage, audit scores, and incident statistics.
• Maintain accurate records of EHS audits, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science / engineering / industrial safety or equivalent.
• 4–6 years of relevant EHS experience in an IT services or software development environment.
• Certification in ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 Internal Auditor (preferred).
• Knowledge of local EHS regulations, environmental management, and office ergonomics.
• Experience in managing corporate EHS or sustainability programs in an office-based setup.
Key Skills & Competencies:
• Strong understanding of EHS management systems (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001).
• Excellent communication, documentation, and audit skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving ability for risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, or similar tools for EHS data analysis.
• Ability to work independently and influence cross-functional teams.
