Database - Senior Engineer

Experience
7-8 years of overall experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data platform development, with strong hands-on experience using dbt.

Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced DBT Developer / Analytics Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data transformation pipelines. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in dbt, SQL, and cloud-based data platforms, with exposure to orchestration, automation, and DevOps practices. This role involves close collaboration with data engineers, analysts, and platform teams to deliver reliable and high-quality analytics solutions.
Key Responsibilities
•    Design, develop, and maintain dbt models for data transformation and analytics use cases
•    Implement reusable, well-documented, and tested dbt projects using Jinja templating
•    Work with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases to design and optimize data models
•    Deploy and support data solutions on Azure cloud, including containerized environments on AKS
•    Manage and monitor scheduled workflows and batch jobs using tools such as Control-M
•    Write and maintain Shell scripts and Python scripts for automation and operational tasks
•    Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams on CI/CD, deployment, and version control
•    Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and ensure data quality, performance, and reliability
•    Participate in code reviews, documentation, and best-practice standardization

Required/Core Skills:
•    Strong hands-on experience with dbt (Data Build Tool)
•    Proficiency in SQL and data modeling concepts
•    Experience using Jinja for dbt macros, models, and configurations
•    Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL
•    Good experience with Python for data processing or automation
•    Familiarity with GIT for version control and collaborative development
•    Working knowledge of Linux environments
•    Experience working on Azure cloud, including exposure to AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)
Good to Have
•    Experience with job scheduling tools such as Control-M
•    Strong Shell scripting skills for automation and support
•    Exposure to database versioning and migration tools like Flyway
•    Familiarity with artifact repositories such as Artifactory
•    Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data platforms
•    Exposure to large-scale data warehousing or analytics platforms
Soft Skills
