Job Description

Database - Senior Engineer:

Mandatory Skills:

Performance Tuning & Scalability, PL/SQL (including PL/SQL Packages), PostgreSQL

Key Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise database engineering initiatives supporting scalable, reliable, and high-performance database solutions aligned with organizational objectives.

• Establish database engineering standards, governance frameworks, and development best practices across teams.

• Establish engineering standards for logical and physical data modeling, database schema design, normalization, denormalization, indexing strategies, and database optimization best practices.

• Lead the design of scalable database architectures supporting enterprise applications and data platforms.

• Define enterprise standards for PL/SQL development, database programming, and data access optimization.

• Establish relational database architecture standards across Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MS SQL Server environments.

• Define architecture and governance standards for non-relational database platforms including MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB, HBase, and CouchDB.

• Drive enterprise performance optimization and scalability initiatives across database platforms and application ecosystems.

• Establish database performance tuning, indexing, capacity planning, and optimization standards.

• Define engineering practices for production database support, incident management, root cause analysis, operational reliability, and continuous performance improvement.

• Lead architecture reviews and ensure database solutions meet scalability, reliability, maintainability, and performance objectives.

• Guide teams on database architecture, data persistence strategies, performance engineering, and scalability best practices.

• Establish standards for database deployment automation, schema version control, and CI/CD practices to improve release reliability and deployment consistency.

• Identify database risks, performance bottlenecks, and architectural gaps while defining mitigation strategies.

• Collaborate with various teams and leadership stakeholders to align database initiatives with organizational objectives.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on database maturity, performance optimization, scalability, reliability, and delivery excellence.
