Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES-
- Evaluate and monitor the quality of data within enterprise databases, data warehouses, and business applications, identifying inconsistencies, inaccuracies, and anomalies.
- Define, track, and report key data quality metrics (completeness, consistency, validity, accuracy, timeliness) to stakeholders, producing regular dashboards and summary reports.
- Investigate causes of data quality issues, collaborating with stakeholders to identify process gaps, system errors, and user behaviors that contribute to poor data quality.
- Develop and execute processes for data cleansing, deduplication, standardization, and enrichment to improve the usability and reliability of organizational data.
- Test new system releases, migrations, and data integrations to validate data quality before deployment.
- Analyze data sets to understand their structure, content, and quality using profiling tools and techniques.
- Work closely with data owners, business analysts, developers, and IT teams to address data issues and integrate data quality requirements into new projects and systems.
- Support data governance initiatives by enforcing data standards, policies, and procedures across the organization.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data quality processes, issues identified, remediation actions, and best practices.
- Lead or participate in projects aimed at improving data quality through process optimization, automation, and adoption of new technologies.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS –
- Advanced SQL skills for querying, updating, and analyzing data in relational databases
- Experience with data profiling and data quality tools such as Informatica Data Quality, Talend, Trifacta, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI for reporting metrics
- Familiarity with Python or R for data manipulation and analysis
- Understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing concepts, and data governance frameworks
- Strong problem-solving abilities and exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in dynamic environments
- Collaborative mindset, proactive attitude, and willingness to learn and adapt
- Understanding of data protection and privacy laws and compliance requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE –
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in data quality analysis, data validation, or data management roles within enterprise environments
Technical Skills:
- Advanced SQL proficiency with experience in complex joins, subqueries, and data manipulation
- Experience with at least one enterprise data quality tool (Informatica, Talend, IBM InfoSphere, etc.)
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting
