Cloud GCP - Senior Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer with solid Google Cloud Platform experience to join our cloud practice team. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing GCP cloud infrastructure environments, implementing GCP-native services, automating cloud operations, and supporting the delivery of reliable and scalable GCP solutions — including hybrid cloud workloads.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

▸    Provision and manage GCP infrastructure resources using Terraform (VPC, IAM, Compute, GKE, Cloud Run).
▸    Build and maintain GCP VPC networks, subnets, firewall rules, Cloud IAM roles, and policies.
▸    Deploy and manage containerized workloads on GKE and serverless workloads on Cloud Run.
▸    Implement on-prem to GCP connectivity using Cloud VPN and assist with Cloud Interconnect setups.
▸    Implement monitoring and observability using Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Datadog.
▸    Automate infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management using Terraform and Python scripts.
▸    Participate in GCP cost optimization reviews and implement rightsizing recommendations.
▸    Support GCP security implementation including CIS benchmarks and vulnerability remediation.
▸    Troubleshoot GCP infrastructure issues and respond to operational incidents.
▸    Document infrastructure configurations, runbooks, and operational procedures.
▸    Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to support GCP application deployments.
▸    Support workload migration activities from on-prem and other platforms to GCP.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS (GCP MANDATORY)

▸    5+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) — mandatory.
▸    Working knowledge of GCP-native services: Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud IAM, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub.
▸    Proficiency in Terraform for GCP infrastructure automation.
▸    Experience with GKE workload deployment and Cloud Run service management.
▸    Understanding of GCP networking: VPC, Subnets, Firewall rules, Cloud NAT, Cloud VPN.
▸    Experience with hybrid cloud environments and on-prem connectivity basics.
▸    Linux system administration and shell scripting (Bash).
▸    Basic Python scripting for automation tasks.
▸    Experience with version control systems (Git).

PREFERRED / NICE-TO-HAVE (AWS / AZURE CONSIDERED)

▸    Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer certification.
▸    Experience with CI/CD integration for GCP infrastructure deployment.
▸    Knowledge of Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and log-based alerting.
▸    AWS or Azure exposure (nice to have).
